About this Session

The workshop will explore how advances in super intelligence (SI) are transforming the practice, pace, and capabilities of scientific discovery and engineering, particularly within materials science and manufacturing research and development. Discussions will examine emerging SI-enabled research approaches, including foundation models for materials and chemistry, generative materials design, autonomous laboratories, SI-driven simulation, multi-agent scientific systems, and SI-assisted manufacturing process optimization. The workshop will also consider the broader implications of these developments for science and technology (S&T) portfolio planning, prioritization, investment, and assessment.
