The workshop will also consider how super intelligence (SI) could help translate operational needs into research questions, identify gaps or underexplored opportunities within existing S&T portfolios, discover nontraditional research performers, and facilitate the formation of interdisciplinary research teams. Particular attention will be given to the challenges of working with classified, proprietary, incomplete, or otherwise inaccessible information, as well as the reliability and limitations of SI-generated assessments. A central question will be whether SI could enable the Department of War to move beyond periodic technology scouting exercises toward more continuous, proactive, and comprehensive technology horizon scanning.
