Short Bio
Kaaren M. Williamsen, Phd, is Director of PEAR (Prevention, Education, Assistance & Resources) in the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office at the University of Michigan. She has also served as the Director of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan, the Title IX Coordinator at Swarthmore College, and was the founding director of the Gender and Sexuality Center at Carleton College. She co-founded the national Campus PRISM (Promoting Restorative Initiatives for Sexual Misconduct) Project and recently completed a study with colleagues on early adopters of restorative justice for campus sexual misconduct. She is also co-editor of the 2023 book Applying Restorative Justice to Campus Sexual Misconduct: A Guide to Emerging Practices from Routledge.
