Lydia Weiss is the Assistant Director in the Prevention, Outreach and Education (POE) Department at Michigan State University (MSU), primarily overseeing the work of the Climate and Response unit. She has been with the department since 2019. Within this role, she has worked collaboratively to develop and implement the Climate and Response process to support units across the university that have been impacted by gender and power-based violence.

The Climate and Response Assistant Director position is truly a culmination of Lydia’s educational and experiential backgrounds, bringing together gender justice and workplace wellness initiatives. Prior to working in POE, Lydia was the Educational Program Coordinator in the MSU WorkLife Office and previously served as the Interim Director of the MSU Women’s Resource Center. Lydia earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from MSU and a master's degree in women, gender and sexuality studies from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently pursuing her master's in social work at MSU.
