At a time when critical workforce shortages threaten the health industry and enrollment in pharmacy education appears to be diminishing, there is an opportunity to reconsider the role of pharmacists in health systems including and beyond direct patient care. The National Academies will host a hybrid public workshop on May 29 & 30 to consider educational and other strategies to diversify the pharmacy workforce and explore the future of pharmacy for improving the health and wellbeing of society and its health care workforce.
