Unraveling the Neurobiology of Empathy and Compassion: Implications for Treatments for Brain Disorders and Human Well-Being: A Workshop
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host a 2-day virtual workshop, May 19-21, exploring the biological mechanisms of empathy and compassion. Workshop participants will examine the factors that influence the development of empathy and compassion, their role in brain health, and their potential to inform future medical treatments. The workshop will bring together leaders from multiple disciplines to discuss how understanding empathy's biological mechanisms could have broader applications in areas like workplace practices, artificial intelligence, and education.
