Michael Allensworth currently serves as the Director for Employee & Graduate Student Programs in Michigan State University’s Prevention, Outreach, and Education Department. In this role, he leads prevention training, online learning, and engagement initiatives designed to strengthen campus culture and climate, with a focus on employee and graduate student communities. He previously worked in Residence Education and Housing Services, where he advanced student success initiatives, fostered collaborations across campus, and supported the overall student experience. Beyond his role at MSU, Michael contributes to the broader student affairs field through active involvement in NASPA, where he has served in several leadership capacities, including Chief of Staff to the Regional Director, Treasurer, and his current role as Co-Chair for the 2025 NASPA Region IV-E Conference.
A first-generation college student from Illinois, Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education at MSU’s College of Education, focusing on leadership for equity-minded change in higher education. In his personal time, Michael enjoys running, traveling, exploring new restaurants, reading, and following Big Ten sports, balancing his professional and academic commitments with a passion for lifelong learning and community engagement.
