The Air Traffic Controller Workforce Imperative: Report Release Webinar
Ensuring adequate air traffic controller staffing is essential for aviation safety in the United States, but what methods can most effectively address staffing challenges? At the request of the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine conducted a study on science-based approaches for setting future air traffic controller staffing targets to enable the safe and efficient operation of the national airspace system. The report, launching on June 18, compares and evaluates competing staffing models, examines factors contributing to current staffing levels, and assesses how the evolving needs of the air traffic control system could impact future staffing requirements.
