This workshop will explore how to advance methodologies for estimating facility renewal costs and foster collaboration and innovation in facility management. Workshop topics will include, but not be limited to, sessions on depreciation models and approaches, depreciation rates and facility service life assumptions, and new data resources for renewal cost research. The goal of this event is to explore potential next steps in implementing recommendations made in the Academies’ 2023 report “Strategies to Renew Federal Facilities” and provide a forum for presentations by policy experts, academics, and real property asset managers.
