Peer Review of the Marine Recreational Information Program Data Standards: Report Public Webinar
A new National Academies report, Promoting the Quality of Data on Marine Recreational Fishing, reviews the Marine Recreational Information Program’s survey and data standards and finds them largely aligned with federal and professional best practices. The report offers recommendations to enhance standards for survey design, quality assurance, transition planning, and data access, and explores how emerging approaches such as artificial intelligence and advanced modeling in the future could further enhance high quality, trusted data for sustainable fisheries management.
