Reenvisioning the Future of STEM Research at Emerging Research Institutions: Webinar #1 - Understanding the ERI Landscape

Emerging research institutions (ERIs), which by statute have less than $50 million in federal research expenditures annually, serve a critical role in the U.S. STEM research ecosystem. ERIs have an outsized impact on STEM workforce development, disproportionately facilitating U.S. innovation and competitiveness by providing communities across the United States increased engagement to academic Research & Development (R&D).

The first of three webinars held in advance of a National Summit on Reenvisioning the Future of STEM Research at Emerging Research Institutions will discuss the wide breadth of approaches and unique roles these institutions serve within the STEM research enterprise. Moderated by Anna Quider, co-founder and co-chair of the Emerging Research Institutions Coalition, panelists include Susan Singer, St. Olaf College, President; Nigamanth Sridhar, Provost, Cleveland State University, and Felicia Nave, President and CEO, 1890 Foundation.
