Harnessing Massive Data Across Geophysical Domains and Applications: Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics Spring Meeting 2026
The rapid expansion of high-resolution observations, large-scale monitoring networks, and coordinated data collection efforts have transformed the landscape of geophysical research. At the same time, advances in computational methods and the growing accessibility of data science tools are enabling researchers to extract new insights from increasingly complex datasets. Data science is emerging as a core pillar of geophysics, alongside theory, observation, and experimentation. This meeting will explore recent innovations in data-intensive approaches, highlight applications across geophysical subfields, and examine cross-cutting challenges such as data integration, interoperability, and workforce development.
