Impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on Cancer Care: A Virtual Workshop Series (Part 3)
The health care provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) aim to lower out-of-pocket costs for Medicare beneficiaries and reduce federal spending on prescription drugs. This virtual workshop series, hosted by the National Cancer Policy Forum in collaboration with the Forum on Drug Discovery, Development, and Translation, will examine the IRA’s health care provisions and their implications for access to high-quality care for chronic diseases and for innovation in drug development, with a particular focus on cancer care.
This third part, to be held on December 15, 2026, will explore the impact of the IRA's provisions on innovation in research and development across chronic diseases, with a particular focus on cancer. The first part will examine the potential effects of the provisions on affordability and patient access to both self-administered and physician-administered drugs, while the second part will focus on the impact of the provisions on health care systems and prescription drug coverage.
