Climate Conversations: Insurance

Increasingly frequent and severe wildfires, hurricanes, and other extreme weather disasters are not only damaging communities around the U.S., but also challenging the insurance industry responsible for providing coverage for these physical damages. Umair Irfan (Vox) will moderate a conversation between Carolyn Kousky (Environmental Defense Fund) and Nidia Martínez (WTW) about how to sustain a viable insurance system within the context of these worsening hazards, and about the roles that communities, policymakers, and the insurance industry itself can play in reducing community vulnerability to these hazards over coming decades.
